commonsku is a Great Place to Work, For Our Team and For Yours
commonsku is now Certified™ by Great Place to Work® and the reason it matters extends well beyond our own team.
What Does it Mean to be Great Place to Work Certified?
Great Place to Work is the global authority on workplace culture. Certification is earned through an anonymous survey of all employees at a company, measured across five research-backed dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie. Companies need to clear a benchmarked threshold of positive responses from their own people to qualify.
In other words, we're only a great place to work if the people who actually work here say we are.
The Results and What Drove Them
commonsku pursued this certification because we wanted outside proof of something every company likes to claim: that our culture is something special. The answer was unambiguous.
A score like that doesn't happen by accident, and it doesn't happen because people who work here like each other a lot (though, they really do). It reflects the deliberate ways in which we operate. From onboarding that makes new hires feel like they've finally arrived where they belong, to learning and growth opportunities customized to each person's journey and goals, to a shared sense of ownership over the work we're doing, we build our culture through structures that make delightful work happen. The vibes are real, but only because the foundations are solid.
We're proud of our results. We're prouder of what they point to: a team that believes in commonsku, what we're building, and who we're building it for.
Why This Matters for the People We Serve
Here's the part that might not be obvious on first read: our customers are the real beneficiaries of a healthy culture.
You have a lot of outrageously remarkable people working at commonsku. I mean, you're packed with personalities there. Honestly, that shows through onto the product, on the roadmap, and everything commonsku. The culture becomes the product.
The promotional products industry runs on relationships. You know the name of your customer's dog. You remember that domestically sourced products are all that's going to get through the approval process. You know their branding colors by heart. Your business is built on trust, recall, and being a consistent partner. commonsku is no different.
commonsku is a software company, but we're a software company inside your industry, made by distributors for distributors. When your Customer Success Manager is still your Customer Success Manager three years from now, beside you through the ups and downs, they don't just know your workflow, your team, and your edge cases — they know your goals and how to help you get there. You deserve the same kind of continuity that you give your customers, so commonsku invests in a culture that makes people want to stay and partner with you for the long haul.
When engineers and product managers feel real ownership, they're not executing a roadmap; they're shaping the future of how you work. They talk to customers because they're genuinely curious and passionate about their problems, and that care shows up in what commonsku features get built.
And when our founders are one Slack message away from our team, "Community First" isn't something we put on a careers page. An industry that values community deserves a software partner that actually gets it.
What Happens Next
This certification is a meaningful achievement that opens the door to what's next at commonsku. Culture, engagement, and growth are things you need to recommit to every day. At commonsku, we're making that commitment.
To the commonsku team: thank you for being honest. You are the reason this happened, and you are the reason we will continue to strive for a culture that embodies putting our community first, being ten steps ahead, having a fast forward mindset, and always ensuring that we, and our customers, feel that work is delightful.
To our customers: thank you for building your businesses with us. You deserve a software partner that is as committed to community, connection, and growth for you as they are for their own team. We want to be that partner and continue to lead the transformation of promo, together.
