They decide to start, of all things, a beach towel company.
After a scrappy and humble start investing their last dollars in the business, fast forward a few years, and the company born as Slowtide is now partnering with famous bands like the Wu-Tang Clan and famous brands like fashion icon Kith. Eventually, the founders at Slowtide —Kyler Spencer, Dario Phillips, and Wylie Von Tempsky— discovered the branded merch industry through our friends at Gemline, where their now famous towel line is available.
Kyle Spencer joins us to talk about their journey, from those early start-up days, to their support of many great ocean-friendly non-profits, plus, we get around to the topic of what surfing and business have in common. And Kyle says? It’s all about abundance.
